run with the treadmill on a slight incline, and set it to one of the programs that makes you speed up then slow down. the repeated effort of running a faster pace, combined with the incline, should boost your stamina for a sport like basketball quite nicely.
What I do is start out slow, and then once I’m all warmed up I pick up my speed. After I’ve been running at that speed for a while, I raise the incline.
